Super Hero Night

Sunday, November 29, 5:45pm-7:30pm

A special night at the Iowa Children’s Museum, this event is dedicated to children with special needs and their families.  We are looking for volunteers who would like to interact with the families and help with taking down exhibits after the event.  Remember, you don’t have to wear a cape to be a super hero in the Iowa City community!

This event counts toward Community Hours.

STEM Family Free Night

Friday, November 27, 4:45pm-8:30pm

Every last Friday of the month the Iowa Children’s Museum is free to the public.  Volunteers are needed to assist with STEM projects, guest relations, and quality assurance.  The ICM is looking for a lot of volunteers for this event, so this is a great opportunity to gather some friends together and get service hours together!

Volunteer Playologist

Tuesdays, 10am-6pm; Wednesdays, 10am-6pm; Thursdays, 10am-6pm; Fridays, 10am-8pm; Saturdays, 10am-6pm; Sundays, 11am-6pm

You’re here to get your J.D., but what if you could add “Playologist” to your resume as well?!  There are opportunities to volunteer six days a weeks at the Iowa Children’s Museum and help their staff (playologists) run events, interact with families, and putting props away after the kids are done enjoying them.  The Iowa Children’s Museum is very flexible about volunteer hours; please email Alex Alwine, Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@theicm.org to inquire more about dates and times.
