As a reminder, variances adopted in the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters in response to the COVID-19 pandemic reduced the career hours required for Boyd Service Award recognition for students who were enrolled during the 2020-21 academic year and who will graduate in 2022 and 2023.

For students graduating in 2022 and 2023, the levels of distinction for the Boyd Service Award are adjusted to 90% of the guideline career hours set forth in Part XV(A)(c) of the Student Handbook, as follows:

  • Highest Honors: 180 hours total (at least 90 community service)
  • High Honors: 135 hours total (at least 67.5 community service)
  • Honors: 90 hours total (at least 45 community service)

The normal guidelines of 200, 150, and 100 hours are applicable to all other students (which includes the current 1L class).
