The Citizen Lawyer Program is hosting an event to celebrate the pro bono efforts of Iowa Law students at 12:40 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, in 235 BLB. The program will feature remarks by Crystal Pound ('16), an attorney at Simmons Perrine Moyer Bergman; presentation of lapel pins to current Pro Bono Society members; and recognition of First Year Service Challenge participants. Refreshments will be provided. The event is part of the ABA's National Pro Bono Celebration (Oct. 23-29).

The Pro Bono Society is Iowa Law's service honor society and membership is earned on a semseter-by-semester basis. Membership requirements include completion of 15 service hours and attendance at one Lawyers & Leaders event each semester. Invitations are sent the following semester. The Boyd Service Award is presented at graduation in recognition of 100 or more hours of volunteer service throughout a law student's career. At least half of the minimum requisite service hours for all PBS and BSA recognition must be community service hours.
