Civility Matters
Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 12:40-1:40pm in BLB 225
Iowa Board of Trial Advocates members Tim Semelroth, Dan Schuck, Stephen Doohen, and Judge Christopher Bruns will facilitate this educational and entertaining program aimed at increasing civility and courtesy in the legal profession.

Disaster Recovery Law
Friday, October 14, 2016 from 12:40-1:40pm in BLB 285
Disasters happen with greater frequency and intensity every year, and our legal system must respond to a wide range of issues during and after these events. Lisa Gavin from Iowa Legal Aid will discuss the role of lawyers in disaster recovery and highlight the issues they must address, such as government benefits, insurance, housing, document replacement, consumer protection, taxes, and education.

Prevention & Intervention of Targeted Violence through Interface of Local Communities, Mental Health Professionals &  Law Enforcement
Friday, October 23, 2016 from 12:00-1:30pm in Jones Common, N300 Lindquist Ctr.
Speakers include Junaid Afeef, Director of the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority, and Nicholas Larma, counseling psychologist.
