pro bono celebration
In conjunction with the ABA’s National Pro Bono Celebration, this week we recognize the service contributions of the Iowa Law community. The Class of 2018 completed a total of 8,302 hours over their law school careers. This fall, 86 students are participating in 17 pro bono projects with law-related non-profit and government agencies, and many more are volunteering with community service organizations such as the Crisis Center of Johnson County and Big Brothers Big Sisters. The incoming class completed over 200 hours of service as part of the First Year Service Challenge alone!

All students, faculty, and staff are invited to join this Thursday, October 25, at 12:40 p.m. in 235 BLB for our annual Pro Bono Recognition Ceremony & Reception. The event will feature remarks by a Staff Attorney at Iowa Legal Aid, Molly McDonnell (’16), recognition of Spring 2018 Pro Bono Society Members, recognition of First Year Service Challenge Participants, and presentation of the House Cup to the section with the highest rate of participation! Refreshments will be provided.
