The Citizen Lawyer Program invites Iowa Law students to sign up for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Pro Bono Project. This is a great way to earn service hours and build your resume. The project is part of the Johnson County Earned Income Tax Outreach Campaign, an effort devoted to supporting the financial security of working families in Johnson County by providing free tax preparation assistance. No previous experience or knowledge is necessary.

This is an "off cycle" Pro Bono Project offered in conjunction with the Tippie College of Business. Training occurs over the winter break and clinics occur early in the spring semester.  All law students are eligible and encouraged to sign up as soon as possible. Students already participating in another CLP Pro Bono Project may participate in the VITA project as well.

To sign up, visit http://tippie.biz.uiowa.edu/bap/activities/VITA_Signup_Law.cfm. Please contact 3L Rebekah Jalilian Nosraty (rebekah-jalilian-nosraty@uiowa.edu) with questions.
